RobotPresentation
The presentation was at 7:36.
While this was certainly the best presentation to date, the team identified some future needs. The judges indicated that the team needed a better engineering book. The team could invest more energy into explaining their thinking in the notebook. The notebook, however, has extensive documentation of the team’s work including hundreds of photos and dozens of videos over the 140+ hours of work on the robot.
Qualifier 1
The robot did not detect the gold mineral with tensor flow, but the team made some good adjustments to the full size board. This included using the other teams minerals for scoring. The arm got stuck during teleOp, which had never happened before. The team made some adjustments between rounds.
Qualifier 2
This was a weird round. The alliance partner planned to block-in our team, which meant that we could not run the full autonomous. The team should have told the other team not to run their autonomous because our team would have scored more for both teams. Learning to assert ourselves is a work in progress.
Qualifier 3
Between rounds, the team removed the plastic film from the camera. This allowed tensor flow to work.
Qualifier 4
The team finally hit their stride. The robot operated as expected and earned a maximum score.
Qualifier 5
The team was paired with team Beta and had the third highest score of the day. The team repeated their previous performance.

Surprising everyone, the top two teams merged, as did teams 3,4 and 6 and 6. This promoted the ‘Gears to Alliance Captain. The team picked the LegoHeads from Lexington, MA and the Bond Bots from Plattsburg.
Semi-Finals 1
The team performed brilliantly and they gave the top two rated teams a run for their money. The blue alliance score of 270 would have been high enough to defeat any other alliance.
Semi-Finals-2
The Bond Bots never started so the gears scored 192 points on their own.
